Indian Black Marquina is predominantly calcium carbonate, with white and grey mineral formations moving through its black ground. In a small number of pieces from the First Edition, localized red and rust-toned coloration appears within these formations. Such coloration in carbonate stone can result from the presence and oxidation of iron-bearing minerals, producing iron oxides that register as red, brown, or rust tones. The precise mineral composition of these areas has not been independently tested. These two pieces were retained because the coloration visibly departs from the predominantly black, white and grey distribution observed across the wider Rain on the Smoke edition.
Rain on the Smoke - Rejected Edition is registered to an independent House ledger upon acquisition. While the initial olfactive medium is transient, the solid Indian Black Marquina Marble vessel is engineered with a permanent internal core designed to remain completely undisturbed. Once the flame completes, the work serves as a permanent architectural fixture, accepting our proprietary interchangeable wax inserts managed seamlessly through the House Concierge. Due to the untamed nature of this specific edition, the physical markings registered to your piece remain entirely singular.
