Why Rejected

White Onyx is a calcite stone whose successive mineral deposits create variations in density as well as natural fissures within the material. These differences are not always fully visible at the surface of an unworked section of stone. Each Dusk & Dawn vessel is hollowed individually to approximately eight-millimetre walls. As material is removed, existing discontinuities within the stone can become exposed, while stresses introduced during cutting can cause a weakened area to propagate into a visible fracture. Among these pieces, some fractures appear to follow existing structures within the stone; others become evident through the process of making. Their precise origin cannot be determined from appearance alone. What can be observed is where the continuity of the stone changed as the vessel was made.

Permanence & Registry Loop

Dusk & Dawn - Rejected Edition is registered to an independent House ledger upon acquisition. While the initial olfactive medium is transient, the solid White Onyx vessel is engineered with a permanent internal core designed to remain completely undisturbed. Once the flame is complete, the work serves as a permanent architectural fixture, accepting our proprietary interchangeable wax inserts managed seamlessly through the House Concierge. Due to the untamed nature of this specific edition, the physical markings registered to your piece remain entirely singular.
